The key to a summer date look is to keep it soft and romantic. With the heat and humidity summer can bring, it’s best not to cake on layers of make-up that will eventually melt during dinner or on the dance floor. You’ll want to spend your evening connecting with your date instead of taking multiple trips to the lady’s room to “freshen up”.
This summer, we are inspired by colorfully subtle shades and a sensual smokey eye. This date night look enhances your natural glow and is guaranteed to knock some socks off. Better yet, it can be applied straight from the office pre your evening rendezvous!
Step One: The first step to a glowing face is a clean one! Wash the day off with your favorite gentle face wash and gently pat dry.
Step Two: After cleansing, lock in moisture. We like Painted Earth Skincare & Cosmetics’ Optimum 15% Vitamin C Face Lotion. The consistency of this moisturizer feels like a primer which will help your makeup last longer and stay in place.
Step Three: Using Painted Earth’s Perfect Every Thyme Baked Mineral Foundation in Simply Beige, dust the foundation evenly on the face with a kabuki brush.
Step Four: Using a small brush or your finger and Savage Jenny’s Faire Maiden eye shadow palate (middle compartment), dust the rosy iridescent color all over the eyelid, up to the eye’s natural crease. Follow by using Savage Jenny’s Queen’s Ransom palate (top compartment) along the crease and outer corner of the lid. Blend the two shadows for the desired smokey effect. Using the bottom compartment of Faire Maiden palate, lightly sprinkle the gold shadow atop the brow bone and towards the tear duct. Gently blend the shadows so there are no harsh lines present.
Step Five: Next, take Painted Earth’s Gel Eye Liner in Majesty. Atop the eyeshadow, glide the liner as close to your lashes as possible. This line can be however straight or smudged as you want, whichever look you desire.
Now, use Painted Earth’s SuperWear Gel Liner in Noir 01 to “waterline” the eyes. The waterline is the corresponding tight line, along the inner rim of the lower lashes.
**Optional: Use Painted Earth’s SuperWear Gel Liner in Noir 01 to “tight line” the eyes. The tight line is the small portion of skin underneath your lashes, closest to the eyeball. This look is referred to as “invisible liner,” as it creates definition while staying subtle.
Step Eight: Finish off with gentle strokes of blush on the apples of your cheeks. We used Painted Earth’s Moulin Rouge in Apricot Swirl
