For that special day, any girl wants an extra special dress. Janay A delivers with styles that are not only gorgeously one-of-a-kind, but also made ethically from luxurious natural materials. This Kansas-based company launched their first sustainable bridal collection in 2005 and have offered unique made to order and custom wedding dresses to brides wanting something more from their wedding attire, ever since.
Janay A incorporates natural fibers such as naturally dyed silk hemp, certified organic cotton voile and certified organic cotton sateen. These fabrics are great for the skin– as opposed to synthetic materials like polyester or rayon– and contain no harmful dyes, preservatives nor softening chemicals typically found in white/ivory fabrics. Their certified organic cotton is dyed with safe peroxide and natural fiber reactive pigments. The fabrics are also naturally softened with soybeans for a low-impact process.
When possible, Janay A creatively “re-sources” fabrics from vintage gowns and even reuses their packaging and boxes. Apart from her mission of sustainability, Janay A values the individualism of each bride, and truly strives to enhance each gown uniquely and functionally. These details can include colored tulle, pockets, interesting textures or distinctive backs and necklines.
